Since 1922, Kocian Meats has been a cornerstone of the Cleveland community, providing exceptional meats and specialty products to both retail and wholesale customers. Founded by Joseph F. Kocian III on the bustling streets of East 4th Street, our family-owned business has stood the test of time, celebrating a remarkable century of service in 2022.

Our Journey Through Time

In the early years, Joseph F. Kocian III, alongside his brother Clifford Kocian, established a reputation for quality and service. Clifford took the helm in 1950, continuing the family legacy. The business thrived and expanded, leading to a significant move in 1960 to Bolivar Road, near the site of the historic Central Market—a focal point of commerce for nearly a century.

As the city evolved, so did Kocian Meats. In 1987, the next generation of Kocians relocated the business to its present location at 4058 St Clair Avenue, making way for the new Gateway District development. This move placed us near what is now the scoreboard of Progressive Field, intertwining our story with the heart of Cleveland’s revitalization.
